50, so for this example I would place the printer outside that range, like. Typically its like 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.50 (the numbers don't matter, what you want is the range because you want to place your static assigned systems OUTSIDE of the dhcp range to avoid an IP address conflict. Also in the dhcp server section on your soho router, there will be a dhcp range. If there isn't a clue then look on the printer for its mac address, its mac address WILL be listed in the dhcp server leases section.ģ. I would expect it to say Zebra something or the model number. Its not a requirement, but a recommendation based on years of experience in that devices that provide a service (like printing) should have a static IP address. My recommendation would be to give that printer a static IP address. OK now that I know you have a SOHO setup lets go this way (I'm aware of the discussion with bucko) I can enter the ip address (when I get that) and go through the process when I'm in the shop. So how do I set this up?Īnybody done this and worked it out? Thanks yet there is no option that relates to ethernet. But when I do this it opens the wizard, and requires a port option, including COMx, FILE, LPTx, PORTPROMPT, SHRFAX, USB001 and some application-based ones (foxit reader, microsoft, etc). It makes more sense to me to install a second print driver, for ethernet, keeping my existing USB one. Nothing happens - it's as if it did nothing. Then I select 'Printer' (to send these to the printer), then Finish. The obvious option for this is 'wired' (out of wired, wireless and bluetooth) and then I've selected DHCP and then I get the final stream page, which shows me a list of settings that will be sent to the printer or saved to a file. The only instructions I can find online seem to suggest that you do this by configuring printer connectivity on the existing printer driver. but I'd like to get ethernet printing going.
